VISIT TO UJUNG BUKIT HOMESTAY

 WEEK 10

On 28.5.2025 at 9.30 am, a group of us started the trip to Kampung Ujung Bukit by taking a Grab. This trip was conducted after finishing the Service Marketing class. The weather at that time was quite hot, but it did not discourage us from continuing the trip to the project area because this could provide a clear picture of the area and exposure at the actual location. Not only that, by visiting this site we provided direct data and observations for us to include in the report that will be made later.

The trip from Uniciti to Kampung Ujung Bukit took about 25 to 30 minutes. At first, the main road we traveled was quite wide and comfortable, but as we approached the village area, the path became narrower. While in the car, we all looked at each route to the place of visit, when looking out the vehicle window we could see the atmosphere of the village and the beautiful rice fields and houses on each trip. Several friends started taking pictures from the car because they were quite excited to see the natural beauty in Perlis.

As we got closer to the homestay location, the road into the village could only accommodate one car at a time, and the Grab driver had to be careful every time he collided with a vehicle from the opposite direction. Those of us in the car also felt anxious and scared every time a car from the opposite direction wanted to pass the same road. With rice fields on the left and right, we felt even more scared.

There were several places where vehicles easily collided with each other at a relatively close distance on the road because the space was very limited, not to mention for drivers who had just gotten their licenses or were not used to driving on narrow and winding village roads. There were also times when the car we were riding in had to stop for a moment to give way to other vehicles first. The journey felt quite long because of the road conditions that required slow and careful driving. We as a group had the opportunity to joke about how challenging it was to travel this route. There was also a time when the Grab driver entered the wrong lane because he had mistakenly looked at the Google maps provided. Various obstacles were encountered during the journey there.

However, upon arriving at our destination, all our worries during the journey disappeared as we were greeted by the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the village, making all the hard work on the journey worthwhile. The scenery we all saw was not only calming but also made us feel grateful for being able to see the area with our own eyes. Standing in a place we had never been to was not in vain but it was a blessing for us to see the beauty of the village for ourselves.
